CGe. Mary MALTBY, b. Feb. 28, 1725 (Sam. 2, Wm. 1). m. Dec. 11, 1751, at Branford, Conn., William GOULD, Jun. (Conn. Marriages) Note. William GOULD evidently was a widower when he married Mary MALTBY as Saybrook records state "1749. June 22, Mr. Wm. GOULD and Mary Lord of Saybrook, married," and: "1750. July 8, Died Mary Gould wife of William GOULD." Then: "1751, Dec. 11, Wm. GOULD, Jr. and Mary MALTBY, married at Branford."
(Branford Rec. p. 102) "Died. 1763. Feb. 11, Mary GOULD, wife of William, of smallpox in 37th year of her age. (p. 174) After the death of Mary MALTBY, William GOULD evidently married again, as I find the following: "1763. May 6, Dr. William GOULD m. Mary JOHNSON."
